Plagiarism Review Policy
Ensuring originality and academic integrity in textile research publishing
Advances in Textiles Technology maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are carefully evaluated to ensure originality, proper citation, and adherence to ethical publishing standards.
1. Plagiarism Screening Process
Every manuscript is screened for similarity immediately after submission and before peer review begins. If plagiarism is detected at any stage—submission, review, editing, or proofing—the authors are notified and required to revise or properly cite the affected content.
2. Acceptable Similarity Threshold
Manuscripts with similarity below 5% are generally considered acceptable with minor revisions. Content showing 5–30% similarity requires substantial revision before further processing. Manuscripts exceeding 30% similarity are rejected due to insufficient originality.
3. Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified after publication, a formal investigation is conducted. Confirmed cases may result in retraction of the article and notification to relevant institutions or indexing bodies.
4. Author Responsibility
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original and not under consideration elsewhere. Proper citation of all sources is mandatory, and all forms of plagiarism—including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication—are strictly prohibited.
5. Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes copying text, data, figures, tables, or illustrations without proper attribution; reusing published material without permission; or reproducing online content without citation. Even improper paraphrasing without acknowledgment is considered unethical.
6. Unintentional Plagiarism
Even unintentional plagiarism is the responsibility of the author. Proper understanding of citation, paraphrasing, and referencing standards is required to maintain academic integrity in textile research publications.
7. Reporting Plagiarism
Suspected plagiarism in published or submitted articles should be reported to the editorial office. All reports are investigated thoroughly, and confirmed cases may result in retraction or corrective action.
